Singlewire Software has developed two simple software tools that network engineers can use to determine whether your organization has multicast, SNMP, and AXL set up correctly on the network. These tools offer a great “quick check” of the network and are an easy way to validate that your systems are configured correctly.
The Singlewire Multicast Tester can be used when your organization is not getting audio but insist that multicast is working on the network.
There are three possible options to choose from:
- Option 1 has the application working as a multicast server and transmitting packets to the network
- Option 2 has the application working as a multicast client and receiving packets Note: Typically, customers will want to run Option 1 on their InformaCast server and Option 2 on the location of their phones (i.e. a PC on the same VLAN as their phones).
- Option 3 allows the application to “hijack” two phones: one to receive packets and the other to transmit them
The CUCM Tester can be used to check whether SNMP and AXL are configured properly on your CUCM clusters
There are seven options that you can choose from:
- Option 1 displays how long a CUCM node has been running, depending on the IP address provided
- Option 2 displays all the nodes in a CUCM cluster who are running the CallManager service, depending on the IP address provided
- Option 3 displays the version of CUCM, depending on the IP address provided
- Option 4 lists the number of phones that are registered to one cluster’s node, depending on the IP address provided
- Option 5 checks whether AXL is running and if the username and password for AXL are correct
- Option 7 runs all of the previous queries
- Option 8 runs all of the queries and logs the results to a file that’s stored in the same location as the CUCM Tester executable
